Nice spot. screen in every angle so you can watch your favorite sporting event. Beer selection was good, didn't try the food but, it looked great. Service was a bit slow but, it was busy and the staff appeared to be working hard. I would stop in again during a happy hour.

Great selection of brews, especially for someone not from CA. Really enjoyed the Russian River selection and a few rare beers. Great taplist and nice variety of to go bottles. Being from the Midwest made this a real treat. Really good appetizers were a bonus.

This place is really cool. I went for the Hoptoberfest event they had a huge selection of beers on tap and bottle. I had Blind Pig, Supplication and Lucky Bastard! One of my new favorite spots.

One of the first beer bars I have been frequently. Its great to have a local place with Russian River on tap along with local favorites.
Burgers are usual go to. the steak sandwich with Chimichurri sauce is amazing. 5 years in still changing menu and offering great beers.

Alhambra is close by to me, but it's not the most direct to get there by car and by public transportation not really possible (read: about 6 miles as the crow flies but public transportation, cab aside, will take about an hour.). That said, I do love coming here.
The food is quite tasty and varied. I'm a big fan of the tuna tartar as well as any if the tacos. The food prices run from about average to a bit pricey, however, the happy hour specials (3/4-7pm m-f) are a good deal and unique from the rest of the menu.
Beer selection is fantastic! Changes often and has a bit of everything usually. For events like Sam Fest and Pliny Day the beer menu is insane. Outside of marquee beer festivals it's rare to see as many rare and awesome beers as they have for events. You can order every beer as a 5oz taster and usually a full pour too. Lots of pre-made flights plus you can build your own. My girlfriend doesn't always want a full pour or is driving and so she finds the 5oz pours to be perfect for her.

My review is for beer only. I may have ordered food before, but I don't remember, so I won't review food.
I visit 38 degrees a few times a month. I usually sit at the bar and order 3 to 4 tasters on tap and either talk with folks at the bar or watch whatever is on TV.
They have a pretty good rotating tap of various types - Belgian, west coast/regional/national, etc. They also carry some of the newer craft breweries in the LA area, so it's nice to be able to sample those. They generally have something from Russian River on tap, either Pliny or Blind Pig.
The prices for the tasters are okay. They range from about $2 to $5 per.
I live in Monterey Park, so this is the best bar located near me. I like it, and I'll continue to visit 38 degrees.
Update - 1/11/2015 - I've been here a number of times after my initial review and ordered food. The food here is very good. Last time I had some calamari to munch on with some tasters, and it was one of the best I've had.
