Greenport Harbor Goth Logger
Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. — Greenport, NY
RELEASED: January 14, 2015
German style Schwarzbier brewed with cocoa nibs is black in color with a sweet malt aroma and flavors of dark roasted malts, molasses and dark chocolate. This beer was brewed at Greenport Harbor’s original brewery in Greenport, New York on October 28th 2014 with assistance from Barcade staff. We were going to call it Goth Lager but later that day, after consuming several beers and oysters, and firing gourds and pumpkins from the brewery’s trebuchet, we heard tales of the mythical figure known as the “Goth Logger”, also known in some regions as the “Lumbergoth”. Beware!! | ABV: 5.9%
LOCATIONS SERVED: Brooklyn, New York, St. Mark’s Place

From 03/19/15 notes. Had this on tap at the Barcade on St. Mark's in NYC. $8 for a 16 oz. pour in a pint glass.
Pours a very dark brown color with one inch of medium tan head and low carbonation evident. Roasted malts, caramel malts, toffee, cream, dark chocolate, vanilla, milk chocolate, cocoa and cinnamon, and light coffee. Nose is stronger than the taste, which is good but way lighter in all the flavors. Light to medium body and moderate to high carbonation. Body is a bit too thin, and a bit over carbonated. Burnt malts in the taste as it warms.
Overall a decent beer. Nose is very good and the taste is good but light. Body is too thin and carbonated, but a solid brew.
