While it looks like a blonde, this golden is rich and dark in taste. That’s because it is brewed with all the grains that make a stout except the ones that would give it a dark color. It is brewed with cocoa and coffee giving it chocolate and java notes. Try it with a Tomahawk steak, a cozy stew or with desserts. Bring some light to your dark winter nights.

A: The beer is a little hazy dark golden yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of cocoa beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of cocoa beans along with hints of coffee. There is a slight amount of carbonation.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a lot of aromas and flavors of cocoa beans despite its dark golden yellow appearance.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Speiglau stout glass.
Look is a golden amber with an eggshell colored head.
Aroma is astrigent roast coffee.
Taste is a weird blend of light malt and roast coffee like a coffee golden ale.

Pours a slightly hazy dirty blond color with a moderate frothy head that settled into a light ring.
The aroma is of a sweet malt, slightly grainy and metallic. Very subtle notes of cocoa and coffee.
The taste is of a mild coffee ground and subtle cocoa. The malt is a bit grainy, not very flavorful.
The feel is moderate with prickly carbonation. Slightly sweet on the palate but finishes quite dry and astringent.
Nice coffee and cocoa notes but the base beer is rather blah. It’s grainy and very dry.
