Look - pint can poured into a 12 oz glass. dark brown in color, with trace head and trace lacing. a lot of small bubbles and appears to be quite carbonated.
Smell - dark chocolate and some vanilla. some coconut detected but not dominant. generally scents are pretty light, but inviting.
Taste - a ton of chocolate hits the palate first, with some accompanying chocolate/coffee bitterness. some malts detectable too with some lingering vanilla. finish is thin but with some warmness.
Feel - medium bodied, high carbonation, and a heavy hitter at 9.8% ABV. Alcohol is very well masked.
Overall - an extremely easy drinking, subtle but flavorful imperial porter that is very interesting to drink. More complexity than initially anticipated.

Greenport Brewery's Double Duck imperial porter comes in at 9.8%, but it's not in your face about it. It pours a dark brown that light has trouble penetrating through with a light brown head and nose of vanilla. The taste follows the nose, although there is a bitter note on the backend of the flavor that I cannot distinguish. The can notes coconut was used, but that doesn't seem right to me. It's not bad, and is definitely a dessert or sipping beer.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate, coconut and vanilla are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and also has notes of coffee in the flavors. There is a light amount of bitterness with some hints of sweetness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and rather smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has the type of aromas and flavors you would expect from a stout with the lighter body and easier drinkability of a porter. It also manages to hide any trace of alcohol very well.

Pours a very dark brown color with ruby highlights. Tight khaki colored head settles into a light ring.
The aroma is sweet with vanilla and chocolate. Noticeable cocoa and dusty bakers chocolate notes.
The taste is more milk chocolate and vanilla. Brownie batter. Some toasted brown bread from the base malt. I like that the vanilla is not overpowering.
Moderate feel with soft carbonation. Definitely sweet throughout the palate. A tad thin for an imperial porter but it actually might help cut down on the sweetness.
Very good dessert porter. Great chocolate flavors.

Imperial porter brewed with rye soaked vanilla beans.
Pours deep red/brown with a thin tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is mostly sweet rye notes with some wood tones. Flavor is roasted malts, rye and vanilla with some bitterness. Feel is decent, a bit drying at the end. Overall it's a tasty porter.
