A: Pours warm reddish golden with a rather tall white compact head. Decent lacings.
S: Rich smell of hay and nettles hits the nose at first, but not only floral hops is strong - the bitter ones are obvious as well. Some caramell malt lures in the back, semi-sweet. Buttery.
T: Bitter hops galore... But the floral hops are in better balance compared to the smell; the hay and nettles is followed by red berries and some apples. The caramell malt is overpowered by the awesome hoppyness.
M: Aftertaste is very long and lovely bitter. Body is a bit buttery and rather thick, while carbonation is held back.
O: Well, as an English Pale Ale - I'm not sure... WAY to much hops. But I kind of love this one anyways; not the best EPA, but a pretty darn interesting and nice beer, though...
The colour is brass (15 EBC), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is yellow-beige. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is mild. Some pale ale malt, dried flowers and earthy hints.
The taste is … it feels a bit tired. Medium bitter notes gets somewhat sharp after a while, perhaps even a bit sour. Some semi-sweet malts. Again, tired somewhat tired dusty flavours. Medium body. The aftertaste is bitter with some alcohol and some dried fruits. The finish got lemon-like bitter flavours. And a touch of leather.
The carbonation is medium to strong, the mid-size bubbles somewhat sharp. The liquid is mid-smooth.
I don’t know, there is something old and frowsy about this beer. The best before date: 1st December 2013, so this shouldn’t be a problem.
