Pronounced "nice," this American style IPA is a thirst-quenching beer with a citrus kick. A unique blend and generous amount of hops displays a flowery aroma and bitter flare. The best IPA for any connoisseur. Let's all have a Gneiss time!

i liked this beer pretty well, a local favorite from what i can gather. its nice to drink a hoppy beer with some bitterness, this element seems to have largely been dropped out of the style of late in favor of the juicy multiple dry hopped thing. this has an older school appeal then with some actual bite to the hops, comes on mid palate and lingers through the finish, quite bitter really, but the beer is otherwise pale and light, not stuffed up with crystal malt or anything, simple and easy, pale two row could be all, lighter medium bodied, dry, and clean to me. the hops have a pine note, a ton of alpha acid, and a relatively late onset in terms of flavor. the fermentation is pretty tidy, the carbonation is there, and the rest of the intangibles seem right to me here. overall a pretty simple and straight ahead ipa, but a satisfying beer in a lot of ways, especially in this day and age where the hoppy beer is losing all its bitterness. this may have been my favorite of the handful of beers i had in this awesome little spot!

Mostly clear light orange brew... Nose shows citrus hoppiness and light pale maltiness.. Palate is good bitterness and the pithy citrus.. Dry like a PNW IPA should be. Fantastic venue... Quarry will ALWAYS be my first stop any time I make my way back to Butte.
