Bright, very lightly hazed gold with no head. Stale bread and sweet white wine dominate the nose - an unpleasant combination with a twinge of musty basement. Where is the vanilla? Oddly vinous flavor, like a riesling, somewhat citric with notes of melon and white grapes. Vanilla appears only in the aftertaste, and the slight honey flavor is more reminiscent of mead than of honey. Light cask carbonation doesn't really work - it ought to be more fizzy. This beer isn't really good to savor, so it ought to be refreshing. Pass.
