L- Pale gold, pours with small haze and 2mm white head. Holds ok, forms lacing on the way down.
S- The distinct spice notes of a witbier/(weissbrau).
T- The spice follows through into the taste, but then there is an unexpected er... wood/cardboard facet too that I don't understand. Finally, into a creamy (dairy) moment then a moderately hoppy-dry finish.
F- Overall it's quite bright and refreshing. Carbonation in the mouth is very good.
O- It was doing ok/but unexciting until I got the wood/cardboard facet, which once noticed nagged on each sip. There are so many waaay better Wits/Weisse than this, so no need to buy this one again.

The labelling has evolved from that illustrated^. The neck-lable is now bright lime green. The main lable is half lime green (lower/left diagonal half, upper/right half is white. Bottle is certainly different, looks historic, lots of ridges, text on the glass (both raised and 'indented'). If that's not different enough it's 410ml and the bottom is marked (in raised glass lettering) '1/2 Kvortos'. Google Translate suggests Kvortos is 'Quart' in Lithuanian.
Note: ABV% in the Description^ states 5.2%, this bottle states 5.0%.

Served on-draught into a Vilkmerges goblet (which is interesting glassware for a hefeweizen...) at Alynas in Vilnius. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average. Cost was 5.00 lt for .4L.

Served cold.

No bubble show forms as it's poured.

HEAD: Pours a one finger wide head of white colour and above average (~3 minute) retention. Leaves no lacing as it recedes. Consistency could be creamier and thicker, but it appears to have a nice supple softness.

BODY: Hazy yellow-orange of average vibrance. No yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible therein. Translucent, but nontransparent.

Looks nice for a hefeweizen, but it's not on par with the best examples I've seen in the style. Appears adequately carbonated. Nothing about this appearance is unique or special, but it's generally appealing and there are no noticeably egregious flaws.

AROMA: The German yeast lends it some banana and clove, which meshes well with the seemingly soft wheat. But I crave orange peel and/or lemon peel citrus, which never comes. Still, the banana is lovely and the overall aromatics suggest a tasty hefeweizen. I'm looking forward to trying this.

It's a mildly strong aroma overall.

TASTE: Fairly fresh wheat provides the predictable foundation for this hefeweizen, with some nice yeast-derived banana and clove notes adding a bit of complexity. Sadly, that's about it, and there's never any orange peel or citrusy notes, nor does it come off particularly fresh.

Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. Decent balance and amplitude of flavour. It's a pretty middle of the road hefeweizen overall, and lacks the artful subtlety and refreshing flavours of superior beers in the style.

TEXTURE: Not as soft as it should be, which in turn prevents it from being as refreshing and quenching as it should be. It's smooth and wet, which is apt, but is also overcarbonated. Medium-bodied, with a bit too much heft and weight on the palate for a hefeweizen - or any beer with this little going on.

This texture suits the flavour profile decently, but doesn't coax out anything extra from the taste and doesn't elevate the beer beyond the sum of its flavours.

OVERALL: This isn't a gestalt build for a hefeweizen, but it's a cohesive one. It'll satisfy your craving for the style, but won't impress the discerning drinker. Decent draught hefeweizen fare. I'm glad it's available in Lithuania, but it can't compete with its brethren a couple countries over in Deutschland. Worth trying, sure - especially at this price. Certainly drinkable.
