Our American style dark wheat beer. It has all of the characteristics of a wheat beer, light refreshing and flavorful, in combination with the chocolate flavors and aromas from roasted malts.

Perhaps it's just the style -- Dunkelweissens have always struck me as somewhat schizophrenic beers. Can't make up their minds whether they want to be a roasty porter or a refreshing summer wheat ale.
Thunderhead's entry in this category pours a very nice amber color, slightly cloudy. The head dissipates almost immediately upon pouring.
The aroma is very understated, though this is probably appropriate for style. You can pick up the wheat scent, and a slight malty sweetness. No noticeable hop aroma.
Body is medium-light with a slightly sweet finish.
The taste is acceptable, but seems to rely to heavily on the malt for its distinctiveness. Very little of the spicy tones which give this beer real character.
