If you are a fan of traditional English IPAs get ready for this malty, hop-filled treat. English Pale, Crystal, and Munich malts are used along with Challenger, East Kent Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops to create a brew that is fit for the English Troops in India.

Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has grass and light earthy pine with some grains backing. Flavor has grass and grains with a bit of bread backing.

Reviewed on 6/19/2010. On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Aroma of citrus, sweaty hops, and buttery popcorn. Flavor is rather sugary with sweet malt and some citrus and diacetyl, caramel malt. Meh, weak palate and pretty bland for an IPA.

On tap at the Dragonmead Brew Pub.

Poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of floral hops and citrus. Tastes of the same floralness with citrus. Lighter sweetness with a lighter to medium bitter finish. Definitely an English Style IPA.

Dark copper. A carbonated half inch head of pure white leaves thick lacing down the glass.

Sweet bready aromas. A bit of clustered floral hopping. Caramel and hints of milk chocolate, toffee, and earth.

Good easy drinker. Creamy mouthfeel. Full of sweet caramel and toffee malts. Hints of dried sunflower seeds. A floral hop to balance and add good depth. A good sessionable pale ale.

Light orange with white head and lace, At the brewpub. Lighter mouthfeel yet higher carbonation. Not that bitter, despite Challenger, East Kent Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops , and malty, but overall average taste.
An average beer, but a sessionable ABV.

Enjoyed at the brewpub. Golden orange colour with a thin white head. Some haze. Solid lacing. Mild hop aroma with a little citrus and herbal character. Moderate bitterness, mostly malt sweetness with citrusy hops. Medium/full bodied, nearly sticky, with low carbonation. This just wasn't attenuated enough - way too sweet. It just didn't work for me. Funky batch maybe?

Poured a pale amber color. There wasn't too much head to speak of and it didn't last for very long.

It smells hoppy with a small amount of a floral aroma. It is a bit hard to distinguish inside of the pub.

This beer is very good without being over the top. This isn't all hops like many of the IPAs I am used to drinking. The hops are definitely there but are balanced nicely. It felt good to have something a bit more subdued for a change.

It has a medium-body feel, not too overpower and it didn't lack. My pint went down quickly. I would have had more of these but there was far too much on the menu to drink the same beer twice in a night.

All in all it is a solid offering but it doesn't really stand out.

A classic English style IPA. "Hop heads" relax. This may not be for you. The hops are clear yet understated, contributing their bitterness on the finish to that of the grain and resulting in a snap of cocoa and toasted wood flavor. This all serves to balance the soft, creamy, dry caramel foundation. Branchy. Delicious.
