On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, served in correct Ægir glass. Also available bottled. ABV is 4.7%. Deep amber colour, moderate off-white head, leaving a nice lacing. Nutty and toffee aroma, also notes of red berries, hints of butterscotch. The flavour is fairly dry (much drier than a dunkel) and nutty, with decent (German?) hops.

Ægir Brime Red Lager……in the bottle served at the bar at Quality Hotel in Sogndal, Norway.

Appearance-a deep dark red color with a lighter white head, poured out into the glass, carbonation is there but not notable.

Smell-balanced aroma mixed with hops and malt, a little caramel mixed with the alcohol and other off sugar notes

Taste/Mouthfeel-more toffee and bready notes on the taste, sharp hops come through initially and fade just as fast as they came. Alcohol is well hidden, medium mouthfeel with nice smoothness and carbonation. Hard not to wish for a little more body, but the main flavors here do work.

Overall-nice example of the style, one of the better beers I had in Norway. Recommend you give it a try.

On tap at the Cardinal in Stavanger. Served in Ægir's signature .5L glass. Appearance is amber-orange, clear, well carbonated and with excellent lacing all through the glass. Smell was pleasant -- malty with some traces of hops. The taste provided a good malt-hop balance. I detected some notes of toffee or caramel that added to the richness of this fine lager. Mouthfeel was smooth with a tapered finish, slightly sweet. Overall very easy drinking and enjoyable. Definitely an above average lager.

This is the second beer I had at Furukroa Flam Tourist Center which was next door to the Aegir Brewery and closed till later in the day. It was another hit. Poured with a little off-white head and little lace. Color was a dark, clear amber. Aroma was a bit roasty and hoppy with some caramel. Flavor's the same with a nice balance of roasty malt to caramel sweetness to hop bitterness. Body was just a hair thin and carbonation was just a little off. Very drinkable beer overall. Nice finish.
