Had one on tap on the Viking Saturn cruise ship. Opaque reddish mahogany color with no head or lacing. Served in a flute glass, fairly cold. Aroma and taste include mild bitterness, a robust caramel malt presence and some herbal, earthy quality. Pretty tasty. Mouthfeel is light and smooth with a little bitterness. A good, light session brew.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also kindly supplied to me by Ole R, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.7%. Dark copper coloured beer, hazy, with a decent off-white head. The aroma has notes of wood, mild spices, caramel and a moderate and undefined fruitiness. The flavour is distinctly fruity, moderately acidic and slightly spicy, with notes of dark münchener malts. Moderate hops in the finish.

Ægir Rallar Amber Ale | Norway | 4.7% | can in a half pint
L3.5 | inviting dark amber
S2.5| Strong hinting at acidity
T2.0| Very strong hops. Overpowering actually. Like an average English bitter.
F3.0| Low body but at least there’s some hops
O3.0| if I want a bitter ill get an English bitter. Out of a can I’m expecting big flavors and this didn’t deliver.

Can. Dark amber colour, a faint haze and a head that disappears way too quickly. Smell is earthy & watery. Sweet, malty taste. Light mouthfeel, some gas, plus sweet treacle on the tongue. Disappointed with this brewery. Another mediocre brew.

Red coloured, very little head. Smells of red licorice, raspberries, cereals and earth. Tastes of smoky plums, caramel, malts and honeyed porridge. some hints of pennies and mineral water. Feel is light-moderate with normal carbonation. Overall pretty standard.

Light amber color and clear. Nearly no head. Some spots on the glass for lace.
Despite the color, I detect some smokiness to the aroma. A touch of caramel as well.
Lots of biscuit and moderately toasted bread. The smokiness is also present in the taste. Interesting combination. Earthy finish with a strong hop kick lingering into the aftertaste.
