Serving notes - shaker glass, cold
A - Light chocolate sweetness.
A - quarter inch of head that eventually went to a thin film over the course of the beer. Dark, clear ruby color.
M - light to medium body with medium carbonation.
T - Light chocolate with spices (predominatly cinnamon) form a wonderful balance. They are clearly present but in a balanced manner that does not assault the senses.
D - This is a great spiced winter beer and I could drink many of these on a cold night or even a cooler spring day.

A new winter release from Black Bear Microbrewery. Must have just been released because I only started to see the fliers and growlers at Burby and Bates. Might only be a one time release from their 7bbl, unless they receive a good vibe from it.
Pours a clear copper color with some head, no lacing.
Smell is mostly malty, hints of some spice, possibly nutmeg, good citrus aroma from the hops.
Taste is malty upfront with a little bit of bitterness from the hops at the end. Not very spicy for a winter offer and seems a little thin on the palate.
Slap Shot does go down quite smoothly though, I found myself consuming it faster than I thought I would. Makes for a "light" winter beer, something that isn't thick or overwhelming, even though the 5.5% could sneak up on you.
Good to see the Black Bear releasing some new beers even though they can certainly do better.
