Let's start with what's most important and take note of the large collection of fake ID's Tony's has. All you have to do is look up when you're at the register and you'll see hundreds of confiscated fake ID's. Now that's art!
Chico is littered with bottle shops and Tony's does nothing special to stand out. The store is on the smaller side and beer selection is limited. The owner(s) has added quite a lot of craft/micro brews over the years so you may find something you're looking for but, be advised, these bottles are mostly shelved and warm. I go here strictly for macros I can't find elsewhere, such as 40's of St. Ides and 12 pack bottles of Bud Ice. And of course, the lowest Keystone prices in town. $12.99 for a 30 pack of Keystone Light/Ice in 2014!
The owner(s) is Slavic and is a pretty decent guy if you can strike up a conversation.
Some notes:
- Tony's stays open late, usually until at least 1 AM.
- No credit cards under $10, and a fee for debit.
- Checking freshness dates is advisable.
- Located in a shitty neighborhood full of diversity, so watch your back.

I found this place last week while riding my bike around town. I wrote this review immediately afterward since I didn't know how long it would take for for BA to add it to the database.
Tony's is not the nicest looking place from the outside, nor is it very nice looking on the inside. Looks can be deceiving, however. All of the beer is located in the wall coolers along the back side of the store. I love it when places keep all of their quality beer refrigerated. There was also a small bin of unrefrigerated singles being sold at $1.29 a pop. I bought several of these, although the age and quality of those beers looked questionable. Not questionable enough to prevent me from buying them though ;)
Beer selection at Tony's was pretty solid. Lots of Nor Cal beer, especially from Mendocino, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas (they carry Hop Stoopid), Anderson Valley, Lost Coast, Anchor, and Bear Republic (Hop Rod Rye included). Oregon was also represented pretty well with selections from Widmer, Deschutes, and especially Rogue. I even saw growlers of Rogue American Amber in the cooler - didn't even know those existed! I didn't see any German brews on the shelves, and the English and Belgian selections were pretty small. In the end, I walked out of the store with a six pack of Mendocino Imperial IPA and three singles: Butte Creek Organic Pilsner, Butte Creek Organic IPA, and Mojo IPA.
I'll probably come back here later in the summer for one of those cool American Amber growlers, buy I'll go to better stores for everything else.
