Bottle still in perfect condition. Upon pouring, there's very little carbonation, but the aggressive pour does agitate a bit of tan head that settles in loose bubbles around the inside of the glass.
The nose straight from the bottle is still loaded with rich dark chocolate notes. Once poured, there's a bit more of a twang - notes of chocolate-covered cherry hits first. Not sure if that fruit is the beginning of early infection or just a bit of complexity from the base beer. With additional time, there's a bit more of a dry, bittering quality akin to baking cocoa that comes to the forefront.
The flavor profile here is still fairly strong - a bit of atypical lactic flavor when cold, but that mellows with temperature. Predominantly getting dry, roasty malt, and baking cocoa. The finish is that familiar sort of bouquet of raisin, coffee, and chocolate with that residual lingering bitterness.
The body to this is fairly thin, but still a noticeable level of carbonation. Overall, lactic and thin upfront, dry and mildly bitter tails.
