568ml can - sexy old-world label design. I am guessing that this doesn't actually have any Galaxy hops in it, just sayin'.
This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy bone-white head, which leaves a bit of layered streaky lace around the glass as it quickly dissipates.
It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, some wan apple and pear fruitiness, lager yeast, and faint earthy, musty, and floral noble hop bitters. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, some estery yeastiness, muddled pome fruity notes, a touch of Euro gasohol, and more underwhelming earthy, herbal, and dead floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly low-key in its innocuous frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and generally smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of an adequate time here. It finishes off-dry, the malt keeping up lingering appearances.
Overall - this comes across as a prototypical version of the broad style, as it possesses no real faults, but is otherwise pretty banal. Easy enough to put back on a sweltering day in May (WTF?), but I am going to forget this one the second I put the can in the bag for the bottle depot.
