Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a dark ruby red color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a gentle pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet to roasty nuts, somewhat like pecans and hazelnuts. Some sweet cereal grains touch down upon some toast, light smooth sweet bubblegum, and then chocolate. Nice earthy spice rounds it out. The flavor yielded to the sweetness initially and brought in the earthy spice ever so lightly. Slight earthy/herbal and grassy blended to the sweet side of the aftertaste. Soft sticky sweet bubblegum to chocolate finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Some carbonation. ABV felt fine. Fairly smooth along my tongue. Overall, where did the bubblegum come from? Not sure if that was intended, honestly, I didn’t mind it in this one, but definitely different for a brown ale. Still, I could give this another shot.

Very dark brown with comfortable aromas of cocoa, toasted nuts and smoke.
Uncomplicated and clean, there is plenty to chew on with flavors of vanilla wafers, bitter chocolate, walnuts and clotted cream. Medium-bodied, the texture is admirably polished, luxuriously smooth and dry.
Absolutely delicious!
