Tasted at the brewpub- served in an appropriate chalice, with a hint of orange color to this brown background. Head is light colored and a little on the thin side. You could really spend a long time just analyzing the smell of this beer- a mix of esters, fruitiness, muskiness (in a good way), woodiness are just a few of multiple adjectives.
The first sip tingles on the tongue and fills the mouth with esters (again, in a very good way) and even more complex sensations than the smell. A nice substantial mouthfeel and warm sensation on the way down. Definitely on the sweet side (although not too much so) with more fruity sensation in addition to a syrupy caramel flavor; a little subtle spiciness is in there as well that I can't perfectly identify... is that licorice? I cant tell.

A winner that I would definitely sample again.

Just got back from my fravoite brewery glad they had a new brew that I haven't had yet.from the tap poured a nice mahogany with a light tan head. aroma anice balance of caramel, malts, honey, fruits, grapes and alcohol. flavor caramel, honey, alcohol, a nice sourness with a sweet finish, with a hint of sour apples. has a nicce smooth mouth feel. this is another good one from the local brewery.

An unexpectedly fast beer menu change from my last stop at Kuhnhenn's left me wondering what to have. Knowing that all the beers would be great, I more or less blindly selected their trippel.

Much darker than one would expect from a trippel. Rays of light are subdued by a swampy haze. They pour it with a smallish head. No complaints though -- the aromatics are still outstanding.

Layers of redolent sweets literally attack the nose -- melon, brown sugar, rock candy, and sweet potato souflee. Yeasty funk slides underneath.

Starts incredibly sweet and stays that way. Starts full of yeast and melon, a flavor which evolves and steps its way up to sweet alcohol. Very slight background flavor of orange Bubblicious. Just the tiniest bit of pepperiness floats into both the aroma and the flavor profile as the beer sits.
