The beer came in a brown 12 oz. bottle courtesy of beeradvocate mikeys01 and HHHIF 1.0 take two. The pour was reddish brown in color and cloudy to the point of opacity (because I dumped in the yeast). The head was tall and crowning outside the pint glass. The aroma was very unlike an IPA with a dominant earthy yeastiness backed by soured cherries. The taste confirmed that despite the labeling, this is most definitely not an IPA.

The taste has cherry and plum flavors in there with a puckering sourness, and healthy bitterness in the finish. The aftertaste lingers on with a soft woody dryness. The body is dense and has a chewy sharp mouthfeel thanks to the abundant yeast floating around. The drinkability is very good, and the alcohol might as well not be in here. A very decent Lambic clone or a Flemish Red perhaps. What were they thinking when they called this an IPA.
