Grub sent this as part of my BC2 package. Thanks Russ!
Clear, very dark brown with ruby/purple highlights. The beer was topped by a thin skim and ring with a bit of fine, spotty lacing. Fruity aroma, grapes, dull dark kilned malt, earthy, plums. Very fruity flavour with lots of grape character - approaching Welch's territory. Plums and dried fruit notes, earthy fruit skins, kind of vinous but more juicy with a hint of toffee underneath. Grape juice finish. Medium bodied with very low carbonation, faint warmth, feels a bit dead. Not a bad drink, but not a good dubbel.

ha d this a little while ago. got lazy about mt ratings lately so I am catching up. from the tap poured a med brwond with very little head. aroma when they say high in malts they mean it grak malts and sugary sweetness and just hints of alcohol, but after letting it set for a few minutes warming in my hand the alcohol got stronger. flavor sweet malts almost too sweet but than you got the alcohol burn. good sipping beer.
