Sampled at the 2006 Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer fest. This was one of my favourites at the fest.

The brewery called it a double IPA. I thought it was more of an American Strong Ale. Somewhat similar to an Arrogant Bastard, but with different hops (Summit rather than Chinook).

A: Dark caramel/brownish-black; fluffy off-white head, good lace.

S: Plenty of piney hop aroma with a little toffee.

T: Fresh/green hops (Very piney, with a little grass), toffee, with a little cotton-candy-like fruity esters.

M: Moderate to full body, light to moderate carbonation.

D: I like it.
