12 ounce bottle into a tulip snifter. Had 1/29/19.
Pours a luminous, clear golden color, with a one inch foamy head and some foamy lacing. Active carbonation, good retention. Aromas of white grapes, honey, light earthy hops. Has an herbal aroma. The flavor is white grapes, honey, light malt, light citrus- not like a hop citrus. Has an herbal flavor and also a light, earthy flavor on the finish, almost like pumpkin, which makes sense since it’s supposed to be blended with an Imperial pumpkin ale. It’s pretty sweet. Smooth, a good light body, well carbonated.
So, my ability to break down the Braggot style needs a lot of work. But, this is what I got. Seemed like a mead to me, and a fairly enjoyable one. No real trace of the Imperial pumpkin ale, other than some earthiness.
