Notes: Dark brown in color, this Northern German Ale acts more like a lager than an ale. It has subtle malty and grainy notes on the nose, with no hop aromas. It has an extremely smooth and balanced flavor. It is light to medium bodied despite it’s dark appearance. I challenge you, “I only like light beer” drinkers to try this amazing beer.

On tap at Kuhnhenn, into a sampler glass.

Brown body with some orange hues. Offwhite head, good retention. Nose is biscuity, caramel, some old oranges, and toffee. Taste has some interesting spicy citrus notes, brown breads, loads of caramel and toffee and generally sweet malt character. Medium full feel. Sweetish into the finish. Tasty, but perhaps a bit too sweet to have a larger serving of. Still a curious mix of flavours here.

Billed as a "Double Sticke" by the folks at Kuhnhenn.

A-Deep copper with a thin light tan head that left spotty lace.

S-Light "non-offensive" aroma...a slight bit of fruitiness sneaks in. Typical clean aroma for the style.

T-Way more flavour than I expected. Juanty fruitiness fills my mouth and never disapates. A bit of spicy zesty hops come in at the finish.

M-Medium body and crisp with a mild long lasting spicy bitterness.

D-A nice double alt offering. A clean, crisp, fruity beer that has more to it than I expected.
