This ale brewed in 2018, has aged well. Full of caramel flavor and aromas, with lots of body and sweetness.

12 oz. bottle. Deep brown. Smells of toffee, brown sugar, some dark fruits, and booze. Tastes of toffee and brown sugar, almost some chocolate, and a nutty finish. Boozy, sweet, heavy, and very good.

2018 vintage
Amber on the pour but dark brown in the glass. Almost zero head. Aroma is rich and boozy with loads of caramel.
Taste is caramel, toffee and faint tobacco. Sweet, but not as much as the nose. Alcohol makes its presence known, but it's fairly discrete except for some really nice alcohol warming on the finish.
Overall, very nice barley wine.

Poured at fridge temp, but allowed to warm over 20 minutes or so. Pours very dark brown - almost black. No head. Lots of very tiny bubbles emerging in the middle of the liquid, and this continues.
The nose immediately reminds me of a VERY old English barleywine. I'm talking 20-30 years old. Very strange, but definitely not a problem! Old port, leather, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, charred wood.
The taste is incredible. Sherry, oak, figs, almonds, leather, black licorice, burnt toffee, ash, plums, molasses, and tree sap. What an intense combination of flavors! I don't think I have ever tasted a 3-4 year old barleywine with this type of flavor. So incredibly rich.
Mouthfeel is fairly thick and robust, but still hanging around a medium. Nothing like a big stout. The alcohol heat is there, but not overpowering. Fairly sweet on the aftertaste.

Quite dark, the center of the orb is dull black, while the edges are a slightly lighter mahogany. Its weak head is barely able to surface, dispersing to a bubbly collar before dying to an oily surface of tar.
Even though I came into this a bit skeptical, particularly due to my past experience with the collaborator's wares, this is possibly the best thing associated with Horus that I've ever put in my mouth. Wow is this tasty--no doubt thanks to Kuhnhenn.
Sweet maple glazed date pairs well with notes of chewing tobacco, caramel and rye. It even seems oaky at times, enhanced by a touch of char and cemented by its assertive booziness. Despite the sweet start, the swallow actually transitions to semi-bitter due to an herbal sassafras accent.
The slick medium-light body has a crackly carbonation that thins out to a quite warming, semi-sticky finish.

Head disappears like soda. Sits muddy in the glass, and smells of boozy, figgy dessert. Flavor is sweet, dried dark fruit with a touch of citrus; almost like an Old Fashioned.

No head or lace.
Dark ruby brown murky body.
Nose is kinda sweet, kinda tart. Malty caramel with a hint of cherry juice or cranberry.
Taste is really sweet. Then followed by tartness on the finishes. Almost salty.
Would love to know what is in this Barleywine.
Finishes sticky. Low to zero carbonation.
Medium body.
