Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a thin head, appearing dense.
Strongly aromatic, featuring notes of brown sugar, vanilla bean, cinnamon, and banana. The Kuhnhenn Brothers are on point with this one and they never disappoint when making beers.

The pour is motor oil black with a tan & frothy head of carbonation. The taste is dark chocolate, caramelized bananas, brown sugar, bourbon barrel oak, & vanilla. Furthermore, the 13.6% abv drinks more like 10.5% abv beer. Overall, this barleywine is a little overly sweet but still good. Cheers! A-

2023 vintage
I had Kuhnhenn’s OG Barleywine last month and obviously I loved it. Bananas foster seems like a no brainer of a variant given the natural fruitiness of the base beer. I’m excited to try this one so let’s just dive right in
Pours a murky medium brown with a finger of frothy light brown head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
There’s a sharpness in the nose that’s elevated by the presence of the banana, it’s quite unique. I’m picking up on aromas of tart cherry, banana, sharp oak, tannic red wine, brown sugar, creme brûlée, plum skin, cocoa powder, molasses, and light walnut
The sharpness isn’t quite as defined in taste but this is still awesome. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting banana bread, red grape, brown sugar, burnt caramel, smooth oak, pear skin, molasses, vanilla bean, and milk chocolate. The swallow brings notes of black cherry, banana bread, walnut, sharp oak, tannic red wine, poached pear, creme brûlée, apple skin, golden raisin, burnt sugar, and light vanilla
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry with a slight boozy heat
I’ve had 10 beers from this brewery so far and not a single one has been rated lower than 4.2. They’re genuinely one of the most interesting breweries around and I need to keep trying more from them
