Thanks goes out to mikegroove for sharing this one with me during the Growler Party this weekend! Served from growler into a Southern Tier tulip. Poured a massively dark brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, cream, and bread. The flavor was of sweet malt, wood, subtle banana, and subtle alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a very easy to drink beer for an 8.5% brew. The aroma was pretty nice on this one as was the flavor. The flavor only gave the slightest hint of the alcohol present in this one which was quite nice. I could see myself getting in trouble drinking this one for sure. Really nice brew that you have to experience at least once yourself.

One of the many growlers opened at the party this past weekend this was the last one of the night for me.
The pour was nice with a very hazy, and very rich looking hazelnut brown color being presented in front of me. A smallish head, maybe an inch and a half came up over the top and settled down gently, forming a very nice pillow of tan across the top. Some nice carbonation could be seen streaming up as well.
The aroma was rich, lots of caramel and brown sugar mixed in with a fig and prune like fruit. Dark, with a touch of alcohol, though I have to admit, very well hidden indeed. The flavor was more of the same, rich and decadent with a large dose of sugar balancing it out quite well. All hotness had faded from this one now, as it was mellow and smooth as hell. Rich caramel and sugar notes, light fig and almost a tart or sour apple taste on the finish. Some vinous hops bouncing around, but nothing too terribly strong.

This beer poured as a rich looking deep brown color with a thin tan head on it. Almost looked like a porter, just was a little lighter. The smell of this beer had a really nice inviting sweetness to it. The yeast mixed with some dark fruits were what I was picking up on the nose. The taste had some of the same things going on with the addtion of some spice and banana. The mouthfeel was very drinkable and easy to put down. Would drink again if I'd ever come across it again.
