This one pours a very dark black color, with a small white head, and no lacing.
This smells quite chocolatey, with raisin, black cherry, toasted bread, caramel, vanilla, and oak.
This is quite good, with a boozy warmth to it that never gets all that overwhelming, luckily. It’s quite chocolatey and malty, with honey, spicy whiskey, dried dark fruit, and nice oakiness. The first barrel aged, unfruited eisbock that I had, that came out a while back, was extremely hot and boozy – this is better balanced.
This is medium bodied, slightly creamy, and very drinkable for the style.
Kuhnhenn remains frustratingly inconsistent with the capability for greatness – this leans towards greatness in my mind.
