Firts brew i sampled at Kuhnhenn during my visit. Not dark brown, not almost black, completely black. with a rich & creamy, chocolate colored head that stuck around until the end. lacing was excellent. Aroma was of dark rich chocolates, full roasted coffee, caramel, and a definite alcohol character. Taste corresponded with smell perfectly. Nice robust imperial taste with a smoothness that makes it enjoyable. Mouthfeel was thick. Very glad i found out about Kuhnhenn.

Absolutely jet black in color with an extraordinarily small dark tan head. Very large and very sweet alcohol aromas -- scotch-like -- drift up from the glass. Shoe polish. Decadent chocolate. Flavor is a little roasty but very sweet. Molasses, carmelized sugar, ripe fruits. The alcohol dominates this brew without being overbearing or pushy. Finishes with a roasted bitterness. Potent.
