Relatively transparent copper. Slightly lighter in color than most German amber marzens I've had. A slight haze. White foam and a little lingers, but not much of a head.
Toast and a little bread crust in the nose. Hints of fruitness and caramel. Classic marzen aromas, but not so pronounced. Not so deep and rich, but inviting in its restraint.
A little less sweet than many amber marzens, but still with a touch of sweetness. The toasty bread crust elements take a back seat to the caramel here. Very little hop bitterness, as expected. Very little hop flavor, as expected. I've always though this style would benefit from a little grassy hop flavor, but that's just me.
Smooth, and more drinkable than many other comparable marzens with it's restrained sweetness.
Solid marzen, though not as good as their pils or helles bock.
Some of StataleNove's beers can be hit or miss, but their lagers are generally solid(though I still haven't tried their bock and doppelbock.)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
