Nice looking beer. Very clear copperish red. Slightly off-white head that holds on.
Smells of heavily toasted malts and a whiff of some earthy hops. Not much by the way of fruity yeasty esters. Not bad.
Nice british malt and toasted grains on the palate, with a good deal of earthy hops layered on top and below(perhaps fuggles.) A little hop bite on the back end, but it's not harsh. Packs in quite a good bit of flavor for a beer of 4.2 abv.
A little too carbonated for a bitter.
Pretty tasty beer, but there's a real lack of yeasty esters.
