Look: Ruby red on the pour ad when held to light in the glass, although it looks black otherwise, with a beige head that settles to a lid and leaves good lacing behind
Aroma: Dark chocolate, roasted barley, coffee, light sweetness, and earthy notes
Taste: Opens with a lovely and rich blend of coffee, cocoa, and roast that hit quick and slowly settle in, deepening all the while. Earthiness and a light brown sugar-esque sweet note go back and forth in the background throughout and closes with coffee and roast
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and smooth on the finish
Overall: This is some good stuff. I had this years ago in bottles but never reviewed it nor even thought about it until I saw it again recently so had to score some. It’s a tasty and well-made Porter that checks all the style boxes and one I could definitely see having with, or even for, breakfast

Appearance: Fairly dark with a light beige head and some amber hues.
Aroma: Heavy chocolate malt notes. Dark roasted coffee. Roasted the hops with a twinge of burnt.
Taste: Rather smooth up front. Faint bourbon notes. Chocolate malt, coffee with a light note of vanilla towards the back.
Overall: This one is a buy again and very nice for a cool night. Prost.

12oz can pours dark brown with a finger khaki head...roasty, nutty coffee notes lead the nose...smooth body, chocolate, some caramel, roasted coffee, light-to-medium body, some nice astringency on the finish. Good stuff.

12oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark brown pour, fizzy beige head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, sweet, notes of chocolate. Taste has sweetness up front, right before the bitter roast kicks in. Nice mouthfeel with some lingering bitterness.

Scrappy notes from 2005.
Enjoyed a pint of this beer at Henry's restaurant & pub in Portland, OR.
Dark brown with a light tan head, a firm kind of conifer bite up front but not too bitter then caramel, chocolate, a bit of coffee. Super smooth and creamy. Only had time for one pint as I had to be on time to tour the Widmir Brewery. TG Breakfast Porter is an excellent tasting porter with a beautiful feel.
