On tap at the Brewery in Champaign. Poured in a dimpled imperial pint mug.
A: Pours a near opaque black color, with some ruby around the edges. A dense two finger tan head forms with excellent retention, and a coat of lace all the way down the glass.
S: A touch of roasted malts, a touch of wheat, light chocolate. Earthy hops that are slightly spicy. Finishes with biscuit like malts. Really well done.
T: More chocolate, lightly roasted, with biscuit malts. Light grains, and I really love the malt character here. A bit of herbal, spicy hops. Then finishes all malty again. No other word, but lovely.
M/O: A medium body, that is incredibly smooth. Well carbonated, perfectly clean and dry. So enjoyable to drink. Very moreish to say the least. I want to keep coming back again and again.
Another spot on example of the style from this brewery, which is a great little gem. Another example of a traditional style done with refinement and nuance. Incredibly well made.
