This is a barrel aged barleywine. Aged in rye and bourbon barrels for about a year.
A: Pours a dark copper/brown color that is near opaque. A one finger beige head forms with good retention and plenty of lace. Impressive lacing for how big this is.
S: Warming malt aromas. Toasted and baked bread. Dark fruits, chocolate, oak and vanilla all intermingle. Very nice.
T: Like the nose, lots of malt flavors going on. More sweetness comes out, and the dark fruits are more up front. Bread, chocolate, molasses, oak, vanilla. Excellent.
M/O: This has a full body, low to moderate carbonation. A moderately sticky feel at first, but that smooths out. A great warming sipper, not fusel at all, and just something I want to wrap myself in.
I just had Central Waters Barrel Aged Barleywine, and these two are very similar. Excellent big warming sippers that I can settle into for a night. Really well done.

Had on tap. Pretty big booze element upfront in taste and smell. Has standard barleywine barley, dark fruit, toffee, and malts, good contrasting sweet and bitter notes. Body has good textures from the sneaky amount of hops. Really nothing that makes it stick out from others, in either the good or bad, just solid all around.
