A: Pours a dark, near opaque brown color. A one finger beige head forms with good retention and lace left behind.
S: All malts in the nose, that I enjoy. Toasted, baked bread, light chocolate. Simple, and very nice.
T: Like the nose, very malt forward. At first, a get a lot of caramel sweetness, but just as it starts to become cloying, that great toasted malt, baked bread and chocolate character takes over. A touch of yeast and esters as well. Really well done.
M/O: A medium to full body. Good carbonation that does not get in the way of the ultra smooth finish. Incredibly moreish. I can come back to this again and again.
A great no frills Brown Ale that hits the spot. Something fewer and fewer breweries are doing now. I hope Blind Pig continues to make this and have it available at their pubs.
