Enjoyed on The Piglet's back patio. One finger of white foam over a cloudy orange body. Decent duration, but next to no lacing. Nice fruity aromas, with the requisite peach ruling its roost. But there is some orange and lemon in tow, and some caramel malt for balance, to round out the nose.
The flavor is almost robust for a Witbier. It's very fruity, but more than just peach. The subtle but unmistakable roasted malts blend very well with the fruit, providing almost a hazelnut glaze to the peach and citrus accompaniment; terrific even with the tart, almost cranberry finish. So is the mouthfeel, with just the right amount of effervescence for a lighter, malty Witbier.
The tart flavor somewhat minimizes the drinkability of this otherwise impressive brew. Again, Blind Pig's Brewery has concocted an excellent beer that should garner considerable attention locally, to hopefully drain the cask on display. Very well done.

A: Pours a very cloudy yellowish/orange color. A white head forms with good retention, but eventually fades to a ring. Light lace is left behind.
S: Just a wonderful aroma of fresh peaches. Slightly tart and sour in the nose. Some citrus, lemon, and light spice. Not complicated at all, but I can plant my nose in the snifter all day.
T: Again, very simple, but a ton of flavor. Big, fresh, peaches. A nice tartness as well along with a very light Citric and lemon like acidic flavor. A bit more of a hop presents than in the nose.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Crisp and smooth at the same time. So easy to drink. I can come back to this again and again.
Not a traditional Wit at all, but really well made. A really great fresh peach flavor. Overall this is fairly simple, but that works in the favor of the beer. One of the best I have had from the brewpub. Highly recommended.
