A: Pours a dark brown color. A two finger beige head forms, but recedes to a small ring. Light lace is left behind.
S: Roasted malt is strong. Acrid coffee as well. Some toffee sweetness. A lingering hop bitterness.
T: Follows the nose. Roasted malt up front with plenty of coffee. Slightly acrid and bitter. Bread and biscuit. Toffee sweetness and lingering hops.
M/D: A lighter body than I would like. Thin and almost under carbonated. Easy to drink though. I can put back a few without a problem.
A traditional English session beer. Something that is hard to come by. I applaud the effort, but this falls a bit short. Certainly enjoyable. Though a bit to thin, and this would be worlds better on cask. Still, cheers for trying something different.
