Bürgerbräu Bad Reichenhall "Unser Bürgerbräu Suffikator"
4,00€ for a ,5l brown glass bottle @ Gasthaus Zollhäusl, Freilassing, DE on 25/09/17
Notes: Dark copper/chestnut colored body beneath a finger-thick head of khaki. Lighter color than many doppelbocks. Dark caramel with a hint of dark skinned fruits in the nose. The flavor is malty, smooth, with dark caramel, golden caramel, some light toastiness, and a very light touch of chocolate. Mild herbal and floral hops appear in the finish. The alcohol is very well cloaked, showing some presence but never stepping forward, and at just 7.3% ABV it should remain subdued. Medium in body and malty smooth with a limited, moderate carbonation. Really quite drinkable, and I think, dangerously so. This isn't the darker, heavier, and more alcoholic version that you might be expecting, and when you actually sit and drink it you might forget its strength.
