Brownish-red rootbeer like color.Slight head but nothing much.Dry hoppy finish.Touch of smoke with dark roasted wheat notes.Slight crispness and a bit watery.Very malty with a medicinal like taste.Seemed to have a kicked up ABV.Not a very high drinkability % but worth a try.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub. The menu describes the history of this beer: it is named for a farm worker whose recipe for this beer from 1867 was found on the site of the brewpub.
This weizen poured a cloudy, red-amber color with creamy, off-white foam that coated the glass and left some lace. The smell was modest but nice: banana and malt. The taste was mildly fruity (bananas) with malt, tangy wheat, and yeast flavors. Hops could be tasted in the finish. The mouthfeel was smooth and clean, with medium-light body, and low carbonation. This was a very drinkable weizen: creamy, fruity, and refreshing.
