German-style refillable growler filled at Maplewood on 1/16/04, enjoyed on 1/18/04. Name seems to be a reference to the Spinal Tap "But this one goes to 11" skit, possibly referring to the amount of grain in it, like just when you thought you could add no more grain, they threw in another bag.
First imperial pint glass pours with a nice tall (1") head, although not very dense and quick to dissipate, leaving little bits of lace randomly around the glass. Good reddish-brown color, nice malt presence, but a few mouthfuls leads one to think that either this is a relatively low-alcohol Scotch Ale, or the bartender was misleading in his description of it. Very high possibility as a session beer, for those grain fans out there. Worth the try if you're on location at Maplewood, but that's your only shot, as they do not bottle at this time.
