Sampled on tap at the brewpub. I heard 8% abv mentioned.
This stout poured opaque black with full brown foam that settled. The smell was a strong, dark malt aroma. The taste was slightly sweet and syrupy, with a strong taste of molasses, and with malt, caramel, alcohol, hints of coffee, and vanilla, and with a hint of a lactic taste. The mouthfeel was smooth and light feeling on the tongue but full bodied. Much better as the glass warmed. This was quite a nice imperial stout, and I definitely wanted more.
