Copenhagen 11/1 2023. 33 cl bottle picked in a shady shop in Nørrebro. White label with drawings of Mad Dogs in black. An old specimen way over beat before date.
Pours unclear, dark amber with a small white head. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of malts mingling with sharp citrus and something chemical. Caramel and toffee. Old linoleum and glue. Rancid butter. Citrus.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, greasy, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a rough bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
It might be due to it being too old - but not an exquisite Indian Pale Ale.
