Copenhagen 14/5 2020. 33 cl bottle from Supervin.dk. Drawing of pretty cockeyed fellow with a jarring smile on the label. Strictly black and white. Tagline is “It’s what’s inside of you that counts”.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small, bubbly, light beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium sweet with a fairly strong, malty, sweet and sugary odor with metallic notes. Brown sugar and caramel. Light roast. Slightly unpleasant metal odor in the background.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while.
If I have to evaluate the tagline I should disregard the cockeyed fellow on the label and just enjoy what’s inside the bottle. In this case a beer that is quite (too) much on the sweet side of the Brown Ale. But overall decent and well made.
