Get to know the Vendel dialect
"Pangel" is something quite special. You can actually "pangle" something, that is, to struggle with something. If you say "pangel" out loud, you can almost visualize an angry farmer whose tractor with slurry tanker has got stuck in the mud out in the field.
Beer & Food
Dark Strong Ale goes well with, for example, osso buco, grilled beef and spicy dishes as well as strong cheeses.

Copenhagen 10/5 2020. 33 cl little, chubby bottle from Supervin.dk webshop. Cartoonish drawing of a frustrated guy fumbling with a wrench saying Pangel on the label. Very regional.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a medium-sized off-white head. Settles as flimsy, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a subdued, malty sweetness and a sharp, sour odor of grains. Caramel and cardboard. Dried fruit. Sour grains and tart berries. Metallic alcohol peeking in.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate rough, sour-ish bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter-sour. Lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish with a boozy streak.
Quite potent and intense dark beer. A bit all over the place - but not in a bad way.
