A full-bodied, "insidious" beer with a pleasant sweetness and an aftertaste of abundant hops. Brewed from the best malts in an ingenious composition.
Stygge Krumpen, bishop 1519-1536, became the last Catholic bishop of Børglum Diocese. Stygge Krumpen was imprisoned by the king and accused of, among other things, adultery and incest in an alleged relationship with Elsebeth Gyldenstjerne. The whole truth is difficult to know, but they lived together for 16 years at Voergaard Castle.

Copenhagen 29/7 2016. 33 cl bottle from Føtex, Husum Torv, Husum. Little chubby bottle. Crowded drawing on the label with horse cart, monk and a ship trying to fit in.
Pours hazy amber with a dense white head. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing on the side of the glass.
Aroma is fruity but with only a modest sweetness. Dominated by sharp sourish odeur. Tart berries.
Soft carbonation and oily palate. Slightly thick, gently tingling texture.
Flavor is quite sweet. Followed by a medium strong bitterness in the aftertaste.
It does not bear much resemblance to a IPA in any way. Apart from that it’s quite sour but pretty much without charm.
