This is a nice enough beer but is fairly one dimensional. Tastes like a brown ale with a massive maple syrup compliment. Very sweet, almost too much sweetness. Definitely would have been better in a 12 ounce bottle as I could not finish this.

Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of maple syrup with light wood notes, some residual sugar notes and some caramelized malt notes. Taste is also dominated by light wood notes with some maple syrup, some residual sugar and light toffee notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no real apparent alcohol. Very enjoyable and still one of my favourite maple based beer.

NOSE : Big toffee and bready notes. Wood smoke. Burnt sugar. Slight bananas.
TASTE: Big caramel and toffee. Dark fruits, mostly plums, cherry and dattes. Pastry-like breadyness. The maple express itself by adding a woody and slightly smoky caracter. Slight port caracter from the red fruits and candied notes. Also some licorice, molasses, brown coffee and milk chocolate. Low herbal bitterness and slight alcool heat.
OVERALL: Very tasty and not overly sweet (as you might anticipated with all the maple syrup that was used). Highly drinkable for such a high abv beer (DANGEROUSLY).
I loved this beer. Im a big fan of malt forward beer and this delivers on every fronts. Great array of bready malt notes that constitute the backbone of this beer. Everything you might expect from this style. The maple caracter shines through and along with the base beer, it's a perfect match. The high abv is conforting without ever being harsh. My only "complain" (mostly a preference of mine), it seems highly filtered. An unfiltered or a bottle condition version of this i think would be even better. I could also see an oak aged limited edition of this each year. I think it would mesh so well with the woody maple notes. Highly recommanded, specially if you like the style. I will buy again. Cheers!
Perfect food pairing with pork beans, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Also grilled meat and smoked salmon.

A: There is a tan colored head that is very creamy looking and dissipates really fast, letting nothing much after a couple of minutes. As you'd expect, this has a deep amber color and is perfectly filtered
S: Well, I don't have the right glass for this kind of stuff but you get strong notes of of maple (duh), toffee and just malts in general. Some slight banana maybe.
T: It tastes of malts and maple syrup. Literally, that's it. It is a very straightforward beer, but it is quite pleasant tbh. Alcohol is non-existent.
M: Not too sticky, medium to heavy body and the carbonation is low, AS IT SHOULD BE. Really well done here.
O: Well, at first I thought it was a really malt heavy 6% ABV beer (thought it's what I'd seen on the bottle at the shop), and it's not until I saw the beer page that I learned it was a 10.45% beer. The alcohol is nowhere to be seen, so it is really, dangerously drinkable. It's a VERY straightforward beer, nothing special, but quite pleasant. If you want a maple beer where maple is the focus, this is it.
