A: The beer has a dark brown color, pours with very little light beige head that quickly dissipates to a ring. Lacing is good though and the little head there is lasts for a while.
S: This beer does smell really good. There is maple, rye spiciness, milk chocolate, coffee, toffee, coconut and a tasteful level of buttery diacetyls. A bit mineral (a bit like raw pu erh tea). All in all, well balanced, smooth smelling, not too sweet it seems.
T: Again, wonderfully complex with the same flavors as described above. There mineral-ness that is similar to raw pu erh is the really only downside to this beer. I think it comes from the mix of the rye, the chocolate malt and the hops.
M: Smooth, not too much carbonated. A bit too sticky, but the mouthfeel is appropriate for the genre.
O: This is really solid beer, very original take on traditional ingredients. Worth the time to look for. I would definitely recommand people to age this at least 6 months to kill the hops and take out the funky mineral notes.

Bottle: Poured a black color ale with a nice brown foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of rye is quite dominant with light roasted malt and caramelized malt notes also noticeable. Taste is a complex mix of rye whiskey notes with some strong woody flavours with some caramelized malt notes with light black chocolates notes also perceptible. Body is about average with good carbonation. Very well brewed and drinks very nicely.
