Appearance: It has a very dark brown color to it. It has a nice beige head that dies down moderately fast and leaves little lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of Belgian yeast, caramel, candi sugar, roasted coffee beans and some faint dark fruit.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has some yeast, caramel, sweet candi sugar, roasted malts/coffee and a faint fruitiness. Lacking some flavor, feels light for a Dubbel.
Mouthfeel: It has a low/medium carbonation with a somewhat light overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with decent flavors and aromas.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma consists of medium sweet Belgian-style malt with light residual sugar notes and some anise. Taste is also dominated by grainy Belgian-style malt with some candi sugar with some star anise notes. Body is slightly fuller then average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed but lacking a bit of complexity and dry fruits notes.

A:
Pours an inky black with tinges or muddy brown if you hold it to the light. Has a nice head that is creamy and tan with teensy bubbles. Good retention; good lacing
S:
Succulent ripe berries, smoked meat, pepper, yeast and bubblegum. It is all pretty unified and spicy but there is a very fruity, chalky, yeasty backbone underneath it all.
T:
Dirty burnt nuts. It is really strong. Bitter, stanky, dusty and musty. Nutty throughout with some dark fruit up front and a gradual bittering and chalkening towards the end. Pretty intense.
M:
Kind of flimsy carbonation, not creamy. Chalky, dry and dirty. Lingering aftertaste/mouth feeling. Bad.
O:
Not good. Tastes like porters I have had (not good ones, either). I bought it dubiously because I think that the whole alphabet thing is not only gimmicky but that it likely fails on a lot of occasions (i.e. 20+ different styles is 20+ chances to not make an unfamiliar style as well as you otherwise could). Worst "dubbel" I have ever had. Would not get again.
