after being blown away by their raspberry wild beer, i was especially excited to try this one in here. its apparently a spontaneous ferment, which is rad, and really unique and unexpected in a low key brewpub like this. its pale and wheaty and foamy from the tap and nice and low alcohol and all, but its nowhere near the quality level of the framboise, not clean not funky, not mature, and with some weird cheap and cheesy elements. bretty and patient maybe, but just not the right mix of elements, and it comes across as a bit of a miss, especially in the finish where the funk turns kind of rancid. maybe not that bad, but the final part of this is way off, it starts fine, and it smells fine, but the mature, farmy, old worldy lambic charatcer of the other one just isnt here, and maybe its cool because its spontaneous, but i dont like the way it tastes at the end. good body and bubbles, but there is something weird about this that just doesnt translate. wheaty and rightly composed though. something i am glad i tried, but it was actually my least favorite of the handful of beers we had in here. cool they are even doing something like this though, the process is rad!
