On cask at the brewpub.
The beer pours an orange color with a few white bubbles floating on top. The flavor is alright, with some orange citrus notes and not too much else. The flavor is not near as good as the aroma. I get some orange and grass notes, but there is also a lot of dirty and soapy notes. Low bitterness. Thin, watery mouthfeel and low carbonation.

A: Pours a slightly hazy amber/orange color. A minimal white head forms and no lace.
S: Citrus hops are up front and prevalent. Soapy and oily. Caramel and buttery malt.
T: Lightly bitter citrus hops. Plenty of caramel and buttery malt.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Dry and crisp. Easy to drink. I can quaff a few with ease.
Not bad at all. Really similar to their pale ale though. Not really an IPA.

well, its good and its average. for the sake of it being a cask ale, it succeeds, little carbonation, a nice mild flat taste without being very cold, but as far as an IPA goes, this beer fails. its a decent cask ale, but it is NOT an ipa. its hoppy sure, but it isn't any more hoppy than the regular pale ale. I dont think an IPA has to have a slap you in the face type of hoppiness, but it does need more character than this one. mouthfeel is great, and the drinkability is good, but from categorical sake, its not an IPA, IMHO

This is one nice IPA. I was very very impressed. Very nice piney earthy hops blended with a good malt forefront. The best beer I had at bluestar by far. I got the last of it. I didn't even get a full glass. I didn't get charged for it though. This is the only beer at bluestar that I was truly impressed with. Be sure to give it a try.

Color is a very hazy copper. Head is of an average height and is thick and fluffy. Aroma is of a very thick, resinous hop which has a nice combo of pine and citrus smells. A piney hop flavor with notes of citris dominates. Underlying malt body is tasty with notes of caramel. Bitterness is low for the style. Good IPA here, nothing special, just fresh and flavorful.
