Received a small growler of this from TPoling, thanks again Travis! An aggressive pour produced a one finger beige head that fell rather quickly to a thin ring. This dark head sits atop a black body that allows zero light reflect through. Thin sheet lacing is left before slowly falling back into the body.
The nose on this Baltic Porter is deep and intense. Dark ripe berries come through right away, with blackberry leading the way. Moderately roasted malts and dark chocolate jump in and add a great base with mild coffee weaving through. All of this sprinkled with brown sugar. This porter has a very nice nose on it.
The flavor echoes the aroma nicely. Roasty malts with hints of dark chocolate lay down a thick foundation as the dark berriness waves over the top, rising and falling. The chocolate comes across with a little of the cocoa flavor and all of this is drizzled with dark brown sugar adding a depth of sweetness that's much needed. There's a slight warming alcohol on the finish. This is an all around delicious Baltic Porter!
The mouthfeel is thick but soft with some residual stickiness. The carbonation is on the mellow side and allows the beer to work its way through slowly.
A very easy drinking Baltic Porter. The flavors are robust and the mouthfeel thick so it's a sipper but one that is easy to sip for long periods of time.
This beer gets better as it hovers right around room temperature. I'm surprised at the quality of this porter. Wonderful flavors and expertly crafted. Thanks again for the taste Travis!

This beer was the winner at a homebrew competition the brewpud had.
This is the best beer I had next to the IPA. Good head and retnetion. A nice chocolate malt backbone. Very hoppy.
Nice mouthfeel in drinkability. If you like a lot of hops and roasted malts, then this is your beer.
Give this one a try if you go to blue star.
